I've Arrived! ~ Je Suis Arrivée!

After months of planning, dreaming, and preparing, I am finally here. Paris! But let me tell you, this transition has been anything but seamless.

My temporary apartment is… well, let’s just say it’s not quite the Parisian dream I had envisioned. It’s uncomfortable, a little chaotic, and not exactly home. But I keep reminding myself this is temporary. This isn’t the place, it’s just a place. The real home will come in time, and I’m lucky to have connected with a great real estate agent who is helping me find something more permanent.

The biggest comfort in all of this has been the people and pup by my side. Jackie is here, adjusting in her own way, and my dear friend Lupe has been my rock. She traveled with me from New York and will be here for a couple of weeks, helping me navigate this whirlwind of a transition. Having her here has made all the difference.

I won’t sugarcoat it. Moving across the world, even for something you want with all your heart, is still overwhelming. The logistics, the emotions, the sheer exhaustion of it all. It’s a lot. But I didn’t move to Paris for things to be easy. I moved here for adventure, for growth, for the next chapter of my life. And right now, even amidst the challenges, I know I’m stepping into something new, something that will shape me in ways I can’t even see yet.

So, for now, I take things one day at a time. I find joy in the small moments. A fresh baguette from the corner bakery. The sound of Parisian life buzzing outside my window. The fact that I’m here in a city I’ve loved for so long. The rest will come in time.
