One of the things that has become so important to me as I get older is keeping up with technology as much as possible. It’s not always easy—trust me! But I also believe in asking for help when I need it. When I started this blog and YouTube channel, I had to learn so much about the internet, cameras, posting, social media—you name it. And, let’s be honest, I don’t always have someone around to guide me through every step.

The wonderful thing I’ve discovered is that most of the answers are just a click away, right on YouTube! Anytime I’m stumped on how to do something—whether it’s editing a video, learning how to format a blog post, or even setting up a camera—I’ve found tutorials that walk me through it. It’s been a lifesaver and an eye-opener to see how much information is available for free online.

But YouTube isn’t the only tool I use to stay tech-savvy. Here are some ways I keep learning:

  1. YouTube Tutorials – Like I said, YouTube is my go-to for learning how to do just about anything. From using new apps to troubleshooting computer problems, there’s a tutorial for almost everything!

  2. Local or Online Classes – Many local community centers, libraries, and even universities offer classes specifically for older adults looking to improve their tech skills. Some even offer free online courses that you can follow at your own pace. Websites like Udemy and Coursera are great places to find affordable, beginner-friendly courses on a wide range of tech topics.

  3. Staying Connected with Tech-Savvy Friends and Family – I’m lucky to have a few people in my life who are more knowledgeable about technology, and I don’t hesitate to ask for help when I’m stuck. Don’t be afraid to lean on loved ones—they’re usually happy to share what they know!

  4. Practice Makes Perfect – The more I use new apps, devices, and social media, the more comfortable I become. If you’re feeling intimidated by technology, the best advice I can give is to dive in and just start experimenting. You’ll be surprised at how quickly you pick things up!

I’ve come to realize that staying tech-savvy isn’t about mastering everything perfectly, but about being open to learning. There’s a bit of trial and error, and plenty of moments where I have to laugh at myself. But I take pride in knowing that I’m still growing, still curious, and still able to adapt to this fast-paced world.

For anyone out there feeling intimidated by new gadgets or apps, I say: give it a try! The resources are out there, and you might be surprised at what you can learn. Don’t be afraid to ask for help—whether it’s from a family member, a friend, or even a tutorial video. Staying savvy isn’t about doing it all on your own; it’s about knowing where to find the answers when you need them.

So, I encourage you to stay curious, stay open to new things, and keep learning. The world of technology has a lot to offer, and it’s never too late to dive in!

Stay savvy and Sensational!
