When Plans Shift: Embracing the Unexpected on the Road to France

Moving across the world is never simple, and as my move to France becomes imminent, I’m realizing just how many moving pieces are at play—many of which are completely out of my control. One of the biggest challenges I’ve been facing is something I tried to get ahead of early on: flying with my beloved dog, Jackie.

For months, I’ve been researching the best ways to ensure she gets to France safely and as comfortably as possible. I thought I had it all mapped out—flights booked, paperwork ready, every detail in place. But, as I should have expected, things have shifted. Airlines are constantly changing policies, pet travel requirements fluctuate, and what seemed like a solid plan a few months ago has had to be reworked entirely.
And this isn’t the only piece of the puzzle that’s changed. Navigating leases, visa logistics, and international banking has kept me on my toes, and at this point, I’ve accepted that I’ll just have to take things as they come. One thing I do know is that, for the time being, my video schedule will need to adjust accordingly. While I’d love to continue my weekly uploads, I may need to shift to posting every other week as I finalize everything before the big move.
The last thing I want is to leave you all without updates, but I also want to make sure I’m sharing content that is meaningful and valuable—rather than rushing through just to keep pace. This is such an important time in my life, and I want to document it properly so I can share the reality of this process with you.
So while videos may slow down a little, don’t worry—I’m still here, and I have so much more to share. The journey isn’t over; in fact, it’s just beginning!
Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your support through it all. I promise, once I’m settled in France, we’ll be back to a regular schedule and with even more stories to tell.
🤍, Lois
